Types of Online Loans
Learn about different online lenders.
Shopping online for a loan can massage your brain into mush. Scroll through the different online lenders below so you can untangle the lingo and choose the best option for you.
Direct Lenders
Direct lenders receive and process your online loan application. They also fund your loan, process your loan payments and conduct any additional service on your loan. Typically direct lenders don't sell your personal info to other companies.
Speedy Cash is a Direct Lender, except in Texas*. We never sell personal info.
state licensed
Lenders usually display any applicable state licenses on their website, if required by the state. State licensed lenders follow state laws and regulations, which protect you from outrageous fees and unfair lending practices. They might also have periodic audits by the state to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Tip: Check a company's rates and terms page to see if it's state licensed.
Speedy Cash complies with all state and municipal laws everywhere we operate.
Credit Access Business (CAB) and credit service organization (CSO)
CABs and CSOs work with a third party lender to provide credit for consumers. Credit is typically in the form of a payday loan or title loan. Some states require a CAB, CSO or third party relationship. Generally in this situation, loan documents are signed and payments are made to the CAB/CSO. A fee may be associated to obtain this type of loan.
Speedy Cash is a CAB in Texas.
Tribal Lenders
A tribal lender is based on a federally recognized American Indian reservation, or is operated by an American Indian community. These lenders may be able to avoid some of the state law restrictions that are placed on state-licensed lenders (due to being recognized as their own independent sovereign nations). They can lend to both tribal and non-tribal members and can charge higher fees than a state-licensed lender.
Speedy Cash is not a tribal lender.
offshore lenders
Offshore lenders are based in another country but lend within the U.S. They aren't regulated by the states where they operate, which means they have less security than a state-licensed lender. Consumers should be wary of hidden fees, increased fees and/or interest, and aggressive collections tactics.
Speedy Cash is not an offshore lender.
loan matching services
Otherwise known as "lead generators," loan matching services act like middlemen between borrowers and the actual lending company. Usually they ask you to fill out a loan application (sometimes only a partial one) and then sell your information to third party lenders. Sometimes, they might even work with lenders that aren't state licensed.
Speedy Cash is not a loan matching service.

Is an Online Loan
right for me?
Deciding if you need a loan can be difficult. And it’s even more difficult with less than perfect credit. Here are a few things to consider:
- Are you confident you will be able to repay the loan?
- Have you asked friends or family members for help?
- Does your reason for needing a loan outweigh the total cost of the loan?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we might be able to help with your short-term financial needs.

Online Loans Help Center
To put it simply, no. Many lenders may say they offer “no credit check loans”, but typically lenders do some type of a credit check, it just may not be a hard credit check. If a lender is stating they have “bad credit loans” or “no credit check loans” consider reviewing the lender’s rates and terms for the product you are interested in, as these loans may have higher APR or additional fees.
If approved, and if your debit card is eligible, you could get cash instantly† deposited to your debit card. Yep, that’s right—instant cash! You could also get your money directly deposited into your bank account, typically by the next business day (depending on your bank), or you could pick up cash in store.
Our website is encrypted to keep your information secure. We use a number of security measures that are continually tested and certified by McAfee SECURE™ and Norton Secure™ certified.
After you submit your application, we strive to give you a lending decision in a matter minutes. Some people will receive an instant lending decision. Others may be asked to provide further documentation which may cause longer decision times. Once you provide the documentation, we review it and give you a lending decision as quickly as possible.
Sometimes we may ask for more information to verify your identity. We want to make sure someone else isn’t fraudulently applying with your information. We also want to make sure that the loan payments are manageable for your situation, so we may ask for information verifying deposits and income. Here’s why we might ask you for additional documentation:
- Security: We may ask you to provide a copy of a valid form of identification to verify and protect your identity. Your security is our top priority, and we want to make sure a fraudster is not applying for a loan with your identity.
- Income verification: When we determine maximum loan amounts for each approved application, an important factor is making sure that the loan payments are manageable for your current situation. To do this, we may ask you to provide documentation that verifies your income and deposits.
It’s our goal to provide loans to people that might not have a high enough credit score to get a loan at a traditional bank or through traditional forms of credit. We also know that if you’re in a situation where you need cash fast, you’re likely under a lot of stress. Let us help you relieve some stress with clear rates and terms, in-depth FAQs, and a personal finance education blog. Of course we would love to be your lender, but more than that, we want you to make an educated decision.
